Our History - A Short Synopsis.
Lilavati Lalji Dayal High School and College of Commerce is situated in South Mumbai, and is at a 10 minutes walkable distance from Charni road station and near the famous Reliance hospital . It was incepted in 1933 due to the vision of the founder and a Visionary and Philanthropist - Sheth Shri Lalji Dayal. He believed that education was the only way to succeed in life and named this institution in the loving memory of his daughter Lilavati bai who unfortunately died at a very young age .
The objective of the institution is "Every child who wishes to get educated can do so and no child should remain illiterate in the Community". Today, the same dream has been continued by its Trustees and the institution has achieved unparalleled growth over the years.

It is our 90th year of excellence. Right from the inception of the institution till date our institution has marched forward to spread the light of education and achieve academic excellence for every student. As the Chairman of the institution, I have always had the full participation and co-operation of the students and parents to make it possible for us to transfer our dreams into reality. Our institution provides students with great confidence, discipline, clarity of thought and decision making ability to set and achieve goals for a lifelong process.
Our dedicated and experienced faculty nurtures and ignites young minds through strong academic and co-curricular activities which brings in total personality development of our students. Whatever career a student may
choose to take, hard work and discipline are the sure path to success. And as
an educational institution we have and we will always support our students in achieving their aspirations. Year on year the results of our institution at the S.S.C, H.S.C and the Degree College Examinations have shown a consistent upward trend with each passing year. The credit for the same goes to my dedicated staff of educationists for their sustained efforts.

Our Belief
We believe that the core aim of education is to foster the all round development of a child. When we speak about all round development we give emphasis on intellectual, physical, moral and social development . AS WE BELIEVE THAT IT IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR as its makes the student more confident to face the world in future
The institution being progressive and keeping with times has started IT divisions as a part of its student offerings. The admissions to its Xl Junior college division were 100% and there were no seats vacant. The faculty encourages the students to pursue other co-curricular activities and has been consistent in winning awards at various events for Sports and Fine Arts.

As the Principal of the institution, I feel extremely proud of meeting our continuous goal of providing excellent & qualitative education to all our children. We are fortunate enough to have the motivation of our Trust Board who have supported all our initiatives to bring glory to the institution. The institution has a full fledged educational system in place with state of the Art infrastructure to educate our students. With the principle of “EDUCATION IS NOT A BUSINESS FOR US” the institution has been blessed with staff who has selflessly dedicated their lives towards Education. I thank one and all for their support & encouragement for helping us achieve great success. We can proudly say that our institution today imparts education from the Pre-Primary section to Degree College. A child once admitted to the Nursery can pass out with a professional degree. Our Alumni have passed out from the institution and are successful individuals worldwide . The Website contains varied information highlighting our areas of growth and achievements.
