Our History - A Short Synopsis.
Lilavati Lalji Dayal High School and College of Commerce is situated in South Mumbai, and is at a 10 minutes walkable distance from Charni road station and near the famous Reliance hospital . It was incepted in 1933 due to the vision of the founder and a Visionary and Philanthropist – Sheth Shri Lalji Dayal. He believed that education was the only way to succeed in life and named this institution in the loving memory of his daughter Lilavati bai who unfortunately died at a very young age .
The objective of the institution is “Every child who wishes to get educated can do so and no child should remain illiterate in the Community”. Today, the same dream has been continued by its Trustees and the institution has achieved unparalleled growth over the years.

It is our 92nd year of excellence. Right from the inception of the institution till date our institution has marched forward to spread the light of education and achieve academic excellence for every student. As the Chairman of the institution, I have always had the full participation and co-operation of the students and parents to make it possible for us to transfer our dreams into reality. Our institution provides students with great confidence, discipline, clarity of thought and decision making ability to set and achieve goals for a lifelong process.
Our dedicated and experienced faculty nurtures and ignites young minds through strong academic and co-curricular activities which brings in total personality development of our students. Whatever career a student may
choose to take, hard work and discipline are the sure path to success. And as
an educational institution we have and we will always support our students in achieving their aspirations. Year on year the results of our institution at the S.S.C, H.S.C and the Degree College Examinations have shown a consistent upward trend with each passing year. The credit for the same goes to my dedicated staff of educationists for their sustained efforts.
